INTRASTAT system is a system of statistical surveys allowigs collection, processing and dissemination of data on trading of goods between the EU Member States. In case of Slovakia this refers to statistical surveys on arrivals and the dispatches of goods between Slovakia and the EU Member States. The INTRASTAT replaces a monitoring of goods mentioned above that was carried out by force of customs statistics. Instead of the terme “import” the term “arrival” in used and the term “export” is replaced by “dispatch”.

Obligation of data provision is set according to reporting unit’s total value of arrivals or dispatches for a given period. Member States shall define each year thresholds below which these units are exempted from providing INTRASTAT information. For that purpose, the Statistical Office of SR annually sets the exemption thresholds, separately for arrivals and dispatches.

For the year 2021 the exemption thresholds had been set to EUR 200 000  for arrivals of goods and 400 000 EUR for dispatches.

A reporting unit, who exceeds the exemption thresholds in the specified manner, is obliged to provide Declaration on arrival of goods (form ZO 1-12) and/or Declaration on dispatch of goods (form ZO 2-12).

Information about reporting units necessary for the conduct of these statistical surveys are recorded in the Register of foreign trade.

Information received within the INTRASTAT-SK system are recorded in foreign trade database together with data on trading of goods with non-EU Member States. These data are processed into the foreign trade statistics of the Slovak Republic.
